When I heard Prime Minister Hideki Tojo announce defeat, I was around third grade and even though my memory is hazy, I thought is this not the wrong feeling to have? Thereupon, perhaps it was imitation, but I somehow made a face that I thought Prime Minister Tojo would have. Before I began the film, in a conversation with Director Mizushima, he said, "It's not what you think in your head. It's about what you feel in your gut." I then replied, "Alright, I'll do my very best!" and with much enthusiasm, became excited to begin.
