1884-1948
graduated from Military Academy (the 17th class) and Military Staff College (27th class). He was respected for his quick reaction during the February 26 Incident, and was inaugurated as the chief of staff for the Kwantung Army. In 1940, he became the Minister of War for the second and third Konoe Administration. In 1942, under the recommendation of cabinet minister Kidouchi, Tojo was inaugurated as Prime Minister. As the Minister of War and Minister of Foreign Affairs, he decided to involve America with the war. In 1944, with the Greater East Asian plot published, the gPacific War Conferenceh was held. Many Asian countries hoped that the colonies would gain independence and to improve the structure of current plans of assistance. Due to the deteriorating state of war, Japan took responsibility and in July of1945, there was mass resignation. Rules and regulations were strict and only the most pure and exemplary military personnel remained on board with defending national policies their first priority.
